Pronounced “Ship Shak”, a Turkish restaurant.
I love their lamb burger, thanks to Syndi Lin who suggested that we went there for brunch on the freezing cold NYC November. OMG yummy burger. It’s perfectly spiced and perfectly grilled. And to be honest, I have trouble ordering other food items when I visit Sip Sak. p.s. Desserts are mostly homemade!!!
Check it out:

So many good things there to eat at Sobaya 蕎麦屋, where do I start?
Maybe start today, a hot summer day, have a whole lunch set with cold noodles (see pic).
Shared with a new friend, Annie … happy … yummy …!
Winter time, I love a bowl of Kamo Nanbam 鴨南蛮 (hot handmade soba with Sauteéd Duck & Tokyo Negi Green Onion) with any tofu dishes.
Sobaya has been in NYC since 1998. So lucky!

“Handcrafted Gelato on a Stick” is their website description. All I can say was YUM YUM (why else would they be on this blog?) !!!
My favorite gelato is melon. And Popbar made it to perfection.
Popbar made this busy real estate broker the happiest person on a 95 degree running around day.

I had little time yesterday to have dinner. To be exact, 15 minutes.
Walked by this Mantao Chinese Sandwich places so many times … then again last night.
It’s a sign that I should give it a try.
Ordered Spicy Pork + Fresh Watermelon Juice (in pic)
Wow
Wow
Wow
SOOOOOOO GOOD!
The sandwich bread was like a Chinese bun (called Mantao) with sesame seeds.
The pork was juicy and tender and spicy.

The West Branch, I went there twice for dinner and 1 time for brunch. Like this place more and more. Nothing fancy on the menu; but they do the normal food just a tad better and tastier.
YUM
In pictures is the asparagus with poached eggs, baby squid (super tende) with spicy tomato sauce, and duck schnitzel. It was yummy yummy yummy.
And Dan and I went there for brunch last Saturday, the Cuban Sandwich is the better that I’ve had in a long time!!!

YUM YUM YUM
I always love freshly made (comparing to packaged ones) pork jerky. My sis likes the beef jerky. Always Always.
After recent visit to Singapore and Taipei (Taiwan), I crave for these Asia snacks even more.
Went to preview couple apartments today in the area for buyers; walked by Ling Kee; of course I had to sample the pork jerky. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come and check them out yourselves:

Anthony Bourdain was eating the Prime porterhouse cut at Porter House New York; Dan (the husband) said he wants a damn good piece of steak. So off we go.
I was not happy when I first walked in; I was expecting a more sophiscated crowd.
However, the better part is, next time I can wear jeans and chow down that steak even more comfortablly.
The wine came a bit slower than the appetizer (really really good Steak Tartar); the waiters are not as attendative as I like for restaurants at this price level.
The Prime PorterHouse Steak medium rare was perfectly cooked. A bite of that steak, I’m happy; and I know I’ll be back again. The Truffle Mashed Yukon Gold is out-of-the-world good. But I won’t order the creamy spinach again; the cream sauce was very running.
No room for dessert … next time …

Thank you, Eleanor, for introducing me for my new favorite coffee spot, Ciao for Now.
Love this little place that tucks off the busy 6th Avenue that offers great baked goods and amazing coffee. It’s simple, and little, and quiet.

This is my new love for lunch spot. Thank you Jarret!
Their food is Southeast Asian food. Everything is SOOO yummy! The 2 dishes in the pictures are my current favorites: Bee Hoon - Singaporean fried rice noodles with shrimp, Chinese sausage and vegetables + Heo Nuong — Grilled pork chop marinated with lemongrass and honey.
Come and meet me there for lunch or dinner ~ love this little casual place anytime ~
