Authentic Neapolitan Pizzeria in NYC!!!!!! YUMMY! Freshly rolled pizza dough + oven baked pizzas + super friendly waiters with heavy Italian accent = perfect meal!!!!

In picutres, my favorites: Toscana insalate (spring mix, fresh pear, walnut, lemon, and extra virgin olive oil) + Vegetariana pizze + Keste pizze. Do make sure you share the salate + pizze with a good friend …. Eleanor and I made the mistake under extreme hunger to order our own … wow … food comma that was ~

August - the perfect place

I have been wanting to try this place.  Many foodie friends visited and loved it.  Got lucky the past Saturday night, Dan got a 4 people reservation at 6:30 pm!

We got garden seats!!!  What a surprise!!!

The staffs here are very friendly and knowledgeable what they serve.

The food here is rustic and interesting!  In pictures: Bone Marrow Crusted Cod, Suckling Pig, and Stuffed Brook Trout.  YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Many things on the menu I cannot wait to go back and try - Pizza con le Patate e Lardo, Duck Carbonara, Apple and Pretzel Tartlet …. drooling …

Spotted Pig - how could you not love it!

Oh, I LOVE Spotted Pig from the first meal with Cheryl and many more to come after.  And yes, I enjoy the food so much and want to eat them so fast that I never took a picture until tonight’s dinner with Sue.

Here they are:

* Devil Eggs (my favorite in NYC)

* (in pic) Sheep’s Ricotta Gnudi with Brown Butter & Sage (you must share … or I dare you to finish this by yourself!)

* (in pic) Tonight’s special - smoked trout paté on toast

* (in pic) Chargrilled Burger with Roquefort Cheese & Shoestrings

We had Limon Tart as dessert that also has the perfect sweetness and tartness ~

Can’t wait to go back again!!!

Royale

I LOVE this little store every time I walk through West 4th Street.  The store has been here 14 years; and it offers more and more fun cards and little gifts every time I walk in.

Don’t think I ever came out empty-handed.

The owner and his Scottie are also great to hang out with when you shop ~

El Faro - Spanish Tapas

by pollychang » click here for full post

El Faro
was the first Spanish Tapas in Manhattan.  The place is cozy with many frequent customers who chat up with the staffs.  The wait staffs reminded me of the ones I love in Spain ~ and their food …

My two favorite tapas are in the pictures - salt cod corquette and shrimp in green sauce.  These two are very authentic (I had them in Spain numerous times) and just YUMMY!    However, I am not impressed with their Paella … bummer ~

Casa - Brazillian - YUM

Ok, I am embarrassed …

You all know how much I love to eat and I eat fast …

Here is mojoitos with Anthony and Elyse, yummy homemade sausage with carmalized onions and yucca sticks with Parmesan cheese

So you say, where is the entrees?!

They were delicious ~ we had Moqueca de Frutos Do Mar which is a seafood coconut stew; Bife Acebolado (Steak with Onions) ; and the national dish Fejoida which is kind of like a bean-based meat stew.  The smell was so amazing to bring up our appetites after all the appetizers; and we finished all the food FAST - so fast that I forgot to take pictures first …..

Love this family style cooking; love the small space (it does get loud); and the service was good and efficient; reservation is strongly recommended!

Falafel, anyone?

Taim, what a cozy and yummy night with Cheryl ~
Taim serves homemade hummus, falafels, and this yummy fries with saffron mustard mayo dip ~ I am in love with homemade hummus! It has a bit more texture and the mass produced one sold in the super market.

Taim is a tiny place; you would be so lucky to be like us to get a seat and enjoy our falafel platters; and watch that line gets longer and longer to go out of the door.
