Finally, a good and authentic Chinese Szechuan restaurant. The spices are handled in the authentic way.
Sun Na took me there; and it became a little yummy heaven for she and I to hang out whenever we can find a moment together on our schedule.
Love the spicy dumpling in Szechuan hot oil, love the pan-seared pork dumplings, love the spiced string beans, love the braised fish with napa cabbage, love the tea-smoked duck, and love the spicy cold hot pot.
Give it try ~ this is the perfect winter for it.

Yes Yes, I am not Jew.
Though I do think I am half Jew after living in NYC for 13 years; and my grandparents were born in Shanghai.
This, is my favorite Matzo Ball Soup.
I actually have not found other items I like to eat from Skylight Diner huge menu; but I go in at least once or twice a year in chilly weather days to sit on the bar and enjoy Matzo Ball Soup.
Your turn to try, and let me know what you think?

Blue Chili is another one of my hidden lunch spot for Pan Asian food in Midtown with reasonable pricings.
Went there this time with Michaela ~ her appetizer - Thai dumpling, and my entree - Vegetable Pad Thai, were amazingly good.

Linda and I went crazy in Sake Bar Hagi. We had:
Fried Pork Fat
Grilled Eggplant
Grill Chicken Meatball (in pic)
Squid Balls (in pic)
Grilled Pork Belly
Grilled Chicken Wings
Fried Tofu in Dashi Broth
Fried Spicy Octopus Legs
Spicy Roe Creamy Pasta
And yes, the reason that there are only 2 pictures was because we ate too fast; I totally forgot to take any pictures at first. hahahahahaaa ….

I love to go in super cold winter days and have a bowl of rich ox-bone soup (which supposedly prevents hangovers) with side order of pancakes. Your body defrosts slowly as the warm soup with rice and noodles go through your body. Also love their homemade kimchi to go with the whole meal … winter is not so bad some days.

After eating up and down East 32nd Street, the famous K-Town (Korean Town), it seems that I always love to go back to Kunjip Restaurant! Had so many wonderful meals with so many friends - Moonhee, the Perlmans, Hyunsoo, and many more …
My favorite dish is actually the sides they offer - there are plenty more than the ones shown in the picture. And out of all side dishes, I love that steamed egg custard; it tastes like how my mom makes it. And I love their BBQ, their seafood casseroles; even the basics are yummy - Japche (stir fried noodles with seafood or beef) and Bibimbob (rice in the heated pot with vegetables and/or seafood). The list goes on and on. Drooling now as I am writing …

Thank you, Alexandre, who is from Paris (new New Yorker with wife Audrey and son Matteo). He works nearby and told me that Brasserie Cognac offers dishes with authentic French taste ~
It was DELICIOUS!
Walking by Brasserie Cognac few times, I thought it was just another midtown French brasserie serving business crowds or tourists. Alexandre said he went few times for work and loves to bring home baguette from the bakery attached to the restaurant. It’s the only place offering baguettes tasting like the ones from home!
The appetizer was tomator tart with goat cheese; the entry of grilled salmon with mustard potatoes. YUM YUM YUM. We’ll have to go back and eat more ~ anyone want to join us?
