Five Points - my favorite brunch place

by pollychang » click here for full post

I rarely have time for brunch. Yes, I do work 7 days a week. Lately, I was brave (and praying the world does not fall apart because I skip a work day on Saturday) and had brunch. Both times, I went to Five Points!

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I love the atmosphere of the whole place.  Of course, my favorite table is under the sun roof nearby the kitchen (see picture).

I LOVE their food.  LOVE the Pulled Chicken Salad, LOVE the apple and sage sausage, and love the Spinach and Goat Cheese Frittata (in pic).  And do want to make it to Churros and Mexican Hot Chocolate one day.

Reservation strongly recommended unless you can get to the door at 11 am.

Café Habana ~ YUM!

YUM YUM YUM

Ever since Moonhee treated me there with the Grilled Corn Mexican Style on one sunny shopping day, I fell in love with Café Habana.  Everything is good there; even the beans are tastier than other places.  And I LOVE just rice and beans any day!

Tonight, I went there dinner with Sue.  We tried once before and got there too late on a gorgeous summer night.  The line was too long.  We went there at 6 pm; and, got the best seats by the window.  We got one order of the grilled corn (2 corns, pictured); and sautee chicken with spinach; and grilled pork chop (pictured).  The grilled corn is always good - creamy and spicy.  The grilled pork chop was served in chipotle wild mushroom au poivre sauce with goat cheese toasts, yum yum yum, super yummy!

No room for dessert … we had to try the flan … it was a bit too tense for me.

Rice to Riches ~

I LOVE RICE!

And I love cream.

It was love-at-first-sight with rice pudding after I moved to US.  :)   Walking half a Manhattan downtown today, it was so fabulous to sit down and have Manmade Mascapone with Cherries and water and just sit.
